Disney Media and Entertainment Distribution group is seeking a talented and creative softwareengineer/data scientist. In order to build and deploy Data Science models at the scale andvelocity required for Personalization, Forecasting, Marketing, Content/User Segmentation, andother services at the user and session level at various timescales, our team of Data Scientistsrequires a ML Engineer to build (near) real-time data-ingestion pipelines and robust (faulttolerant) model serving infrastructure. This is a high-impact role where your work informsdecisions affecting millions of consumers, with a direct tie to The Walt Disney Company’srevenue. It spans a broad range of subject areas, including analysis of marketing effectiveness,user frequency, fan engagement, personalization, predicting future consumer behavior, andcontent optimization. Work together with data scientists to build and deploy models Leverage your in-depth knowledge of data science models to optimize them Research, design and develop the infrastructure required to build machine learningmodels at scale Build products/algorithms that will be used by millions of D+, E+ and Hulu subscribers Build and maintain self-service tools for Data Science Model Explore and analyze video viewership behavior data to discover future testingopportunities Present your research and insights to all levels of the company, clearly and concisely Collaborate across the org including Data Science, Data Engineering, Data Product andDevOps Basic Qualifications
3+ years experience with a proven track record of leveraging data to drive businessimpact. Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field. Expertise with common languages Python, R, Scala, Java and a proven ability to learnnew programming languages Expertise with Hadoop, Spark and related big data tools Proficiency with DevOps using Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins etc. Experience with event messaging frameworks like Apache Kafka Familiarity with ML models and frameworks (TensorFlow, Keras, Scikit-Learn, Gensimetc.), implementing and optimizing them in large scale AWS platforms Preferred Qualifications
Advanced degrees are a plus. Strong data visualization skills to convey information and results clearly Experience with statistical analysis tools using R or Python. Ability to work independently and drive your own projects. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills. Impactful presentation skills in front of a large and diverse audience. Innate curiosity about consumer behavior and technology A fan of movies and television is a strong plus. Ability to take a project or proof of concept through the full solution life-cycle: hypothesistesting, data wrangling, modeling, conclusion and handoff to engineering teams toimplement into production. Experience with probabilistic thinking and programming is a plus. Additional Information
