The Role

We are looking for a driven Systems Design Engineer to join our growing team in the AIG group at AMD. This role will be critical in verifying AI functionality and performance for our client and gaming devices.

The Person

The successful candidate will be an experienced senior individual contributor, who will help build up our emulation framework and capabilities, work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure our devices are meeting functional and performance targets before tape-out, and provide assistance to post silicon validation teams. The Systems Design Engineering team fosters and encourages continuous technical innovation to showcase successes as well as facilitate continuous career development.

Key Responsibilities

Triage system level issues and be able to root cause HW issues Work with DV and PV teams for cross verification of AI functional and performance metrics Develop emulation infrastructure and automation scripts Build, modify, and enhance existing SoC emulation models Develop custom emulation models for AI prototyping Identify HW performance bottlenecks and give feedback to design teams Work with cross organization teams to ensureSilicon/SW/Platform/etc. features are in sync, development is supported, and validation is planned Develop test plans in conjunction with HW, SW, and FW teams for feature coverage on emulator

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

Prior experience with client PC and/or embedded SoCs System level debug experience with both HW and FW components Knowledge of Computer Architecture concepts and silicon development Familiarity with HW/SW cosim and modeling Familiar with scripting languages and programming (Python/Ruby/C/Perl/Tcl) Experience with UVM and HDL languages (Verilog, SystemVerilog) Prior experience with testing tools and environments, defect tracking and revision control Familiarity with Silicon Verification Tools (such as Verdi, Simvision, Visualizer) MS Office & MS Project tool suites

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

Bachelor or master’s degree in CS, EE, or CE preferred.

Hybrid option in San Jose, CA or Longmont, CO
