Naval Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Naval Engineer to support the digital transformation and design optimization of large-scale maritime systems. In this role, you will refine mechanical and structural systems across the full engineering lifecycleapplying Lean Design, CAD/PLM workflows, and modularity strategies to enhance design efficiency, manufacturability, and system performance. This position is ideal for someone with hands-on experience in shipboard systems, shipyard design practices, and cost-conscious engineering who thrives in a collaborative, mission-driven environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Support digital transformation and design optimization of maritime systems.
  • Refine mechanical and structural systems across the engineering lifecycle.
  • Apply Lean Design, CAD/PLM workflows, and modularity strategies.
  • Participate in design reviews, validation studies, trade-off analyses, and decision briefs.

Essential Skills:

  • Proficient with CAD tools such as Siemens NX, CATIA, Creo.
  • Experience with PLM systems like Teamcenter, ENOVIA, Windchill.
  • Familiar with design and build processes related to navy shipbuilding.
  • Experience working on navy projects.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

  • Understanding of design-build processes for shipbuilding.
  • Knowledge of design for manufacturing ensuring parts are manufacturable.
  • Exposure to Navy programs and international travel opportunities.

Work Environment:

This position offers a flexible work environment with options for remote work, except during travel to customer sites or for collaboration meetings. Hours are Monday to Friday, 7 am to 4 pm, with potential travel upwards of 50%, which could be international or local for collaboration meetings.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $75.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
