About the Role:
Taara is looking to hire a Network Embedded Software Engineer to build the next generation operating system for wireless broadband networks. The ideal candidate will have strong experience writing low-level code (SAI/SONiC) for switch (Broadcom Trident, Marvel AlleyCat or similar) ASIC configuration, bringing up embedded Linux systems, routing protocols, data structures, algorithms, and programming languages such as C, C++, or Go, as well as basic embedded system knowledge/experience.
How you will make 10x impact: Design, develop, and maintain network software applications for switching/routing ASIC Monitor network performance with metrics to measure uptime, congestion and availability. Stay up-to-date on the latest network technologies and trends (SONiC, SAI) Collaborate with engineers and network operators to develop and implement network solutions Troubleshoot and resolve large-scale field deployments What you should have: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Networking, Electrical Engineering, or a related field 5+ years of experience in developing network software applications in Linux-based operating systems or similar with background in Networking/Telecommunications/ISP Strong programming skills in C, C++, or Go for development and Python for test automation Experience with routing protocols (STP, MPLS, OSPF, etc.) for service-provider networks Strong understanding of data structures and algorithms Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills Strong communication and teamwork skills Ability to work in the Sunnyvale office at least 3 days per week It would be great if you also had these: Experience with control plane and/or data plane firmware for service-provider switching and routing devices Experience with vendor ASIC integration and network operating systems Experience with network programmability for management and routing Knowledge of software defined networking (SDN) Experience with Linux kernel programming is a plus Good understanding of security protocols and techniques Experience working in start-up like environments where things can change on a dime Joy in learning new technologies, learning from your teammates and teaching them as well!
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $160,000 - $210,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
