RMC is hiring for a Senior Network Engineer (ON SITE - FULL TIME) to support our customer at the Naval Surface Warfare Center Carderock Division (NSWCCD) located in West Bethesda, MD. The Senior Network Engineer will assist the customer with maintaining reliable, secure, and efficient data communications networks at NSWCCD. The Senior Network Engineer will be responsible for the planning, designing, engineering, installation, configuration management, documentation, maintenance, and monitoring of Teleconferencing, network communication devices, and associated elements that support core network functions and services. Tasks the selected applicant will be required to perform are, but not limited to: Configuration and management of virtual local-area networks (VLANs), routing, and failover mechanisms Configuration and management of firewall rules based on ports, protocols, and services Configuration and management of VOIP network and environment design and management Configuration and management of Wi-Fi network and environment design and management Configuration and management of VPN solutions for Microsoft and Linux environments Management of IPv4 and IPv6 network address schemes and allocations Management of network-related DISA STIG activities Provision of services for obtaining and troubleshooting various capacity leased lines and associated equipment used for interface into the Research, Development, Technical, and Engineering (RDT&E) network and NSWCCD’s detachment sites Maintain and update circuit information to avoid inadvertent interruption of service Prepare circuit diagrams and update service agreements, where needed
The selected applicant must be able to demonstrate the following: Extensive knowledge of, and experience with, hardware and software products, including Cisco routers, Cisco switches, Cisco Adaptive Security Appliance (ASA) firewalls, Cisco Access Control Server (ACS), Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE), Cisco Prime Infrastructure, and Cisco SourceFire Intrusion Prevention System (IPS), and COMSEC equipment Strong organizational, communication, and managerial skills through relevant work experience Ability to initiate and manage a project from inception to completion through examples of projects completed, including defining size, scope, and complexity through various factors such as cost vs budget, impact on requiring agency, time required vs deadline Ability to troubleshoot problems, conduct research, and learn and propose new technology solutions Requirements At least 10 years of networking experience, three (3) of which shall include experience with Cisco products in an Ethernet environment Must possess an associate's degree or higher in computer science, cybersecurity, information technology, or software engineering from an accredited college or university An active DoD TOP SECRET clearance is required to start.  Applicant selected may be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information Must possess a valid Driver’s License Must possess current CISCO certifications and thereafter obtain the most current advanced-level training Must possess an IAT III 8140.03 baseline certification (one from the following list): Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) Certificate CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner (CASP) Certificate Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Security Certificate Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) Certificate GIAC Certified Enterprise Defender (GCED) Certificate GIAC Certified Incident Handler (GCIH) Certificate Benefits At RMC, we're committed to your career growth!
