SMMA has an exciting opportunity for a mid-level Plumbing/Fire Protection Engineer or Senior-Level Designer to work on stimulating projects at ourProvidence, RI, Manchester NH or Cambridge, MA offices. Working alongside a project leader, the candidates will be expected to provide new ideas and share knowledge that will advance each project, the firms mission, and their professional careers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Revit design experience and the ability tolearn and become proficient inRevit design software.
- This position will include being a Lead Engineer on assigned projects of various types and applications. A balance of technical, communication and organizational skills is needed for this role.
- Technical: good knowledge and experience in the range of building Plumbing and Fire Protection systems and applications; the ability to engage in technical discussions with the project team and lead meetings as necessary.
- Communication: verbal and written communication skills to articulate ideas to both technical and non-technical people; comprehensive representation of the trade in project team discussions.
- Organizational skills: good time management, coordination of resources and proficiency in meeting deadlines.
- Codes: comprehensive knowledge of, and experience with applicable building codes (e.g. NFPA, State Codes, federal/UFC codes).
Qualifications:
- Experience in building systems engineering, calculations and construction administration on public and private bid projects.
- A Registered Professional Engineers stamp and/or Bachelors degree in Mechanicalor Civil Engineering is preferred, but project design experience is also considered.
