Location: WI - Relocation assistance is available.
Position being posted Nationwide for reach.
Schedule: Standard - Monday - Friday, Days; up to 15% travel.
Pay Rate: Up to $150K depending on experience.
Principal duties and responsibilities will be:
- Lead tech transfer from R&D to manufacturing for new organometallic and inorganic precursors
- Design, scale, and optimize production processes for purity, yield, and consistency
- Oversee equipment selection, P&ID, and reactor design for batch/semi-continuous systems
- Collaborate with QA/QC on analytical validation of trace-level specs (moisture, halides, metals)
- Identify and mitigate failure modes in air/moisture-sensitive or thermally unstable compounds
- Drive root cause analysis and CAPA for deviations, contamination, and yield loss
- Support SPC/SQC implementation and process control for HVM readiness
- Ensure EHS compliance in hazardous chemistries (e.g., Grignards, metal hydrides)
- Lead continuous improvement using Lean and Six Sigma tools
Requirements:
- Degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field (B.S./M.S./Ph.D.)
- 9+ years of hands-on manufacturing experience with specialty or high-purity chemicals
- Proven track record in scaling up air-sensitive, organometallic, or inorganic compounds
- Proficient with analytical methods (ICP-MS, NMR, KF, TGA, GC-MS) and data-driven problem solving
- Knowledge of process safety (PSM, HAZOP, FMEA) and chemical compatibility
- Familiarity with ALD/CVD precursors, functional materials, and electronics-grade standards
- Experienced with chemical reactors (glass-lined, stainless, glovebox, Schlenk setups)
- Understanding of ISO 9001, ISO 17025, or GMP environments
