Job Description: Our Parsons Seattle office is hiring a Principal Civil Transportation Engineer - Civil Roadway to join our team. The primary role is to provide civil and roadway design support for various WSDOT and regional transportation projects long-term. This position may be hybrid remote or virtually based in the Seattle area. What You'll Be Doing:
Perform roadway engineering and design assignments, applying engineering techniques, procedures, and design criteria for projects of various sizes and complexities. Use drafting and 3D modeling software to develop conceptual and detailed designs. Perform design calculations, including material quantity takeoffs and construction cost estimates. Assist in producing and modifying design calculations, technical reports, engineering plans, and specifications. Mentor junior engineers supporting transportation projects. Provide input to CAD Drafters working on the same project. Perform geometric design alignments for road and highway projects. Design ramps, highways, and complex interchanges. Develop layouts for retaining walls and temporary roadways. Utilize Microstation and AutoCAD Civil 3D.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field. 10+ years of experience in road and highway design. Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Certificate. Professional Engineer (PE) Registration is highly desirable.
What Desired Skills You'll Bring:
Proficiency in Microstation Open Roads Designer and Bentley design suite. Strong communication skills and ability to work within a diverse engineering team. Strong aptitude for advanced design engineering skills. Excellent verbal communication skills. Willingness to work in an office team environment.
