This role requires on-site presence at our client's location in Issaquah, WA. WHAT YOU WILL DO
We're seeking a Principal Cloud Platform Engineer to lead architecture, strategy, and automation of multi-cloud infrastructure. This is a highly technical leadership role - ideal for someone who thrives as a player-coach : providing architectural direction, influencing across teams, and still contributing hands-on to strategic engineering initiatives. You'll play a central role in designing scalable internal platforms, shaping cloud automation practices, and mentoring engineers while working cross-functionally to simplify operations and align technical decisions with enterprise goals. The successful candidate will bring deep GCP experience , a consultative mindset, and a passion for building cloud systems that are resilient, cost-effective, and secure . KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Set and lead multi-cloud strategy (GCP-focused) aligned with enterprise goals, guiding platform decisions across Azure, GCP, and AWS environments. Architect, automate, and scale internal cloud platforms used by engineering teams-built for reliability, governance, and operational efficiency. Provision infrastructure using modern IaC tools like Terraform , GoLang , Git, and Azure DevOps. Mentor and support engineers while fostering technical excellence and peer learning across teams. Drive simplification of complex cloud processes-reduce manual effort, improve standards, and streamline operations across hybrid and cloud-native environments. Collaborate across security, compliance, and architecture teams to ensure platform adoption meets cost, security, and policy expectations. Provide advisory input on cloud migration strategy, including tradeoff analysis (on-prem vs. cloud, cost vs. complexity). ABOUT YOU

Your Experience: 10-15 years in technical roles with a focus on infrastructure, DevOps, or platform engineering . Recent leadership of large-scale or global cloud initiatives , with proven influence across cross-functional teams. Advanced expertise in GCP (required), with additional experience in Azure or AWS a plus. Strong hands-on skills with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, Git) and programming in Go , C# , or Java . Deep knowledge of cloud networking, identity, and security models , especially in complex or compliance-heavy environments. Demonstrated ability to mentor , delegate, and align technical efforts with broader organizational goals. Comfortable with advisory-level conversations and platform architecture decisions, while still contributing technically when needed. WE'D LOVE IT IF YOU HAVE: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field. Industry certifications in cloud architecture or DevOps . Experience working in high-scale, distributed environments like retail, ecommerce, logistics, or supply chain . Familiarity with data visualization or operational tooling (e.g., Tableau, Power BI). A clear ability to simplify , delegate, and make data-driven decisions under complexity. WHAT WE OFFER: Competitive compensation with opportunities for additional incentives.
