We are seeking a Principal Software Engineer Solution Architect to lead a cross-functional development team within the Commercial Solutions organization. Role: Build performant, scalable and secure web applications. Provide leadership, guidance and direction on systems and web application architecture and system design. Guide and coach less experienced engineers. Focus on user-centered design. Spearhead design, technical and code reviews. Implement coding standards and approaches. Promote an Agile approach to software development. Collaborate with teams across the organization to mitigate risk and resolve dependencies. Architect and develop cloud-native applications using Java Spring/Spring Boot. Design and implement scalable solutions on cloud platforms such as Azure and AWS. All About You: Successfully designed and developed externally facing web applications utilizing modern single page application frameworks. Angular and React JS experience preferred. Deep understanding of JavaScript and its benefits and quirks. Successfully designed and developed cloud-ready REST APIs utilizing industry best practices. Deep understanding of Java Spring/Spring Boot frameworks for backend development. Proven experience with cloud-native architecture and deployment on Azure and/or AWS. Deep understanding of Messaging frameworks and event-based architecture and its benefits and quirks. Understanding of web application optimizations such as performance and memory optimizations, debugging memory leaks, caching, flame graphs. Experience and knowledge of authentication and authorization workflows using concepts like JWT. Have proficiency in Quality engineering and experience working with Quality leads to define processes and technologies. Passion for improving code quality using approaches such as unit and end-to-end testing. Deep knowledge of Continuous Integration and Delivery and toolsets that provide this ability. Understanding of agile principles and methodologies and experience implementing and adapting them to fit the team's needs. Use and understand Git-based source control systems. Proven experience building ADA and WCAG compliant web applications.
