We have an exciting opportunity for a Principal System Engineer to join our team. The role is supporting one of our premier programs within the Air & Space Defense Systems (ASDS) business unit. In this role you will support advanced, leading-edge, software system development by providing systems engineering support, guidance and team communication. You will contribute to a team of multi-discipline engineers on agile development teams in the accomplishment of engineering tasks in an iterative execution method.
What You Will Do System software requirements, derivation and analysis, development of software interface documentation, and analysis of system architectures and frameworks.
The principal systems engineer will execute multiple aspects of the systems engineering discipline, to include support of software development activities, requirements traceability into software functions, system performance analysis, and system integration and test activities to ensure system requirements achieve validation
The system engineer will interact with the agile development teams regarding technical considerations, risks, and issue closure associated with the system capabilities and features
The candidate must also possess the ability to multi-task, adapt to rapidly changing circumstances, effectively network, and communicate to the appropriate levels of the organization and support schedules and delivery milestones
Perform engineering activities
Perform engineering activities utilizing Cloud environments, tools, and associated procedures
Obtain a polygraph after start
Qualifications You Must Have Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and 8 years of prior relevant experience, OR an Advanced degree and 5 years of relevant experience.
Experience performing engineering activities across the full software development lifecycle using Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) methodologies in a Systems Engineering role
Experience creating system requirements, decomposing capabilities into features, and developing acceptance criteria to support verification by software and test development teams
Experience documenting system interfaces, detailing network routing information, and developing system architecture artifacts
Experience utilizing agile tools such as JIRA, CONFLUENCE and/or JAMA
Qualifications We Prefer Domain experience in IC GEOINT, including familiarity with common data formats and products
Experience with requirements management and / or backlog management and grooming in JIRA
Understanding of Multi-INT Sensemaking, Orchestration, and Processing concepts
Experience with software development activities, including system level design specification and integration test and verification activities (full SW life cycle as an SE)
Experience in development of containerized software system architectures
Experience using MBSE processes and tools to digitally capture systems design and elaboration in Cameo or similar tools

Onsite : Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.
The salary range for this role is 101,000 USD - 203,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
