Pay range: $112000 - $148,000

Primary Function: The Process Engineer/Build Manager is responsible for owning and improving process flows and test plans for prototype and early-stage manufacturing, while also managing prototype build teams, schedules, budgets, and consigned inventory. This dual role focuses on reducing cost, improving quality, and supporting project goals with minimal supervision, while ensuring timely execution of prototype builds. Essential Job Functions - Responsibilities: Define and maintain manufacturing control plans and process documentation.
Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
Create and execute test plans based on product requirements.
Collaborate cross-functionally and with external vendors on test strategies.
Use Lean principles to streamline material flow and eliminate waste.
Provide feedback for design-for-manufacture improvements.
Manage Technicians and Inventory Team.
Ensure schedules and budgets reports are being met.
Act as liaison between customer Operations/Engineering Manager and responsible teams.
Partner with customer engineering team to ensure build lines are set up correctly.
Oversee reporting of material position against build schedule.
Contribute to development and deployment of MES system.
Follow Business Technology policies to protect sensitive data and reduce information security occurrences.
Education and Experience: (Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities) Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
2+ years of relevant process/test engineering experience.
Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in manufacturing or prototyping.
Solid understanding of process improvement and test engineering.
Proficiency in test automation using Python and familiarity with Linux.
Experience in cross-functional project teams and prototype environments.
Proven leadership and management capabilities and experience.
Experience within an R&D environment strongly preferred.
Ability to influence and negotiate with key stakeholders.
Experience creating and implementing processes to improve efficiencies within a production line.
Ability to make clear and effective presentations to inform and persuade clients, peers, and managers.
Ability to prioritize and adapt to changing priorities.
Strong written and verbal English language communication skills
Excellent teamwork/interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively, both within and outside one's own work group

Work Environment Standard office environment with normal amounts of office related conditions. Occasionally may be required to work in environmental conditions that emulate typical user environments in order to facilitate design testing and validation.  Occasionally may be required to travel as required to other facilities, clients, or suppliers.
