Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and creative Product Design Engineer V to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical intuition, engineering fundamentals, and excellent communication skills. This role involves providing design support for iPad products, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and optimizing designs for manufacturability and functionality. This is an exciting opportunity to work on innovative projects and contribute to the development of high-quality products.

Responsibilities:

Use 2D and 3D CAD tools to communicate design intent, inspection requirements, and test methods.
Develop deep technical knowledge in areas outside your expertise to understand design constraints and craft creative solutions to technical problems.
Collaborate with outside vendors and internal manufacturing experts to optimize designs for function, aesthetics, and manufacturability.
Perform tolerance and stress analysis, electromechanical integration, and design for high-volume manufacturability and assembly.
Engage in prototyping, failure analysis, simple fixture design, metrology, and statistical process control.

Qualifications:

High degree of motivation, curiosity, passion, and creativity.
Strong mechanical intuition, creative problem-solving skills, and spatial reasoning.
Solid understanding of engineering fundamentals, including statics, strength of materials, material science, and statistics.
Excellent communication skills: written, visual, and verbal.
Proficiency in 3D CAD software; experience with 2D drafting and GD&T is a plus.
Experience in the design cycle from concept through manufacturing is a plus.
Experience designing mechanical components for mass production, specifically molded, formed, and machined parts, is a plus.
2+ years of mechanical design industry experience.
BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.

Pay Range: $100 - $115/hr. on W2

The specific compensation for this position will be determined by several factors, including the scope, complexity, and location of the role, as well as the cost of labor in the market; the skills, education, training, credentials, and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment.
