Product Design Engineer

Akkodis is seeking a Product Design Engineer for a Contract job with a client in Cupertino, CA. The ideal candidate will have strong CAD skills, mechanical intuition, and experience designing components for mass production.
Rate Range: $120.27/hour to $126.27/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
Product Design Engineer job responsibilities include:
Use 2D and 3D CAD to communicate design intent, inspection requirements, and test methods. Develop technical knowledge across disciplines to understand constraints and craft creative solutions. Collaborate with vendors and internal manufacturing teams to optimize designs for function, aesthetics, and manufacturability. Apply skills in tolerance and stress analysis, electro-mechanical integration, prototyping, failure analysis, fixture design, metrology, and statistical process control. Desired Qualifications: BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. 2+ years of mechanical design industry experience. Strong motivation, curiosity, creativity, and attention to detail. Solid engineering fundamentals: statics, strength of materials, material science, statistics. Excellent communication skills-written, visual, and verbal. Pay Details: $126.27 per hour
