Position Summary:

The Project Engineer plays a critical role in managing and executing engineering projects within the manufacturing facility. This position is responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing projects that improve operational efficiency, enhance product quality, and reduce costs. The Project Engineer collaborates with cross-functional teams—including production, maintenance, quality, and safety—to ensure timely delivery and successful execution of projects in alignment with company goals. While based in Phoenix, this role reports to the Process Improvement Manager located in Columbus, OH and will work closely with teams at both sites to align on initiatives, share best practices, and support project replication.


Key Responsibilities:

· Lead and manage end-to-end execution of capital and process improvement projects.

· Develop project scopes, schedules, budgets, and resource plans.

· Conduct feasibility studies and cost/benefit analyses for proposed projects.

· Design and implement plant layout modifications, new equipment installations, and system upgrades.

· Collaborate with vendors, contractors, and internal teams to ensure project specifications and timelines are met.

· Support production teams with technical solutions, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis of equipment or process issues.

· Ensure projects comply with all applicable codes, regulations, and safety standards.

· Maintain accurate project documentation, including drawings, technical specifications, reports, and change orders.

· Monitor and report on project progress, proactively identifying risks and recommending corrective actions.

· Promote a culture of continuous improvement through Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles.


Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or Electrical Engineering (or related field).

· 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial project engineering role.

· Proficiency in project management tools and engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, MS Project).

· Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, plant systems, and industrial equipment.

· Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, and/or TPM methodologies is a plus.

· Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.

· Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.


Preferred Attributes:

· PMP certification or equivalent project management training.

· Experience with ERP systems and data analysis tools.

· Familiarity with OSHA and environmental regulations.

· Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

· Strong interpersonal and communication skills, especially in a remote-reporting structure.

· Highly self-directed, with the ability to take initiative and drive results independently.

· Comfortable collaborating across multiple locations
