Description The Quality Engineer - CNC Machine Shop Manufacturing will be responsible for the following: Develop, implement, and maintain quality control systems to ensure product compliance with specifications and industry standards. Interpret engineering drawings and customer specifications to determine quality requirements. Conduct first article inspections (FAI), in-process inspections, and final inspections of CNC machined parts. Utilize precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, CMMs, optical comparators, and height gauges. Maintain and calibrate inspection equipment and measurement tools. Lead root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action (CAPA) processes for internal and external non-conformances. Support APQP, PPAP, and FMEA activities as needed. Work closely with machinists, programmers, and production staff to identify and resolve quality issues. Maintain accurate inspection records, quality documentation, and quality metrics reports. Assist in internal and external audits (customer audits, ISO audits). Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.

Profile The ideal Quality Engineer - CNC Machine Shop Manufacturing will have the following qualifications: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience) 3+ years of experience in a CNC machining or precision manufacturing environment Strong understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings Experience using inspection tools and coordinate measuring machines (CMMs) Familiarity with ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 quality management systems Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) Experience with statistical process control (SPC) Familiarity with Minitab or other quality analysis software Knowledge of lean manufacturing or Six Sigma principles Experience with CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, etc.) Previous audit experience (internal or external)
