Quality Engineer (Level 1 or 2) - Automotive Manufacturing

Key Responsibilities
- Review design drawings, process sheets, test procedures, procurement specs, and inspection results to verify quality compliance
- Develop and implement inspection and training standards for manufacturing associates on equipment such as calipers, micrometers, CMMs, Vision Systems, Digital Hardness Testers, and more
- Oversee raw material and in-process auditing to ensure quality throughout production
- Lead quality improvement initiatives in response to customer complaints or internal findings
- Collaborate with suppliers, design, and manufacturing to perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions
- Conduct CPK studies and other data-driven quality reviews; maintain reports and quality tracking databases
- Participate in Kaizen events and continuous improvement projects
- Supervise and direct sorting activities and nonconforming material returns
Requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field
- Minimum of 3 years of quality engineering experience in a manufacturing environment (automotive preferred)
- Proficient in SPC, FMEA, APQP, PPAP, and measuring equipment (calipers, micrometers, CMM, Vision Systems)
- Ability to read blueprints and interpret technical documentation
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Experience training and supervising technical personnel
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint (Access a plus)
- Customer-focused, detail-oriented, and self-directed
