Drive Engineering Impact Where It Matters Most

In this role, you'll bridge the gap between design and engineering reliability into our electromechanical actuators and solving real problems with real products.

You'll be part of the engineering coredesigning test methods, analyzing root causes, and leading process improvements that directly affect how we build, qualify, and improve critical systems.

This is a launchpad for engineers who want autonomy, technical challenge, and the ability to influence both product design and process integrity.

Responsibilities

  • Lead root-cause investigations using 8D, fault-tree, and engineering analysis methods
  • Develop and validate test methods, fixtures, and tooling for product verification
  • Create and maintain process FMEAs, control plans, and capability studies
  • Support qualification and validation activities (FAI, design verification, PPAP)
  • Partner with design and R&D engineers to feed field and process data into product enhancements
  • Drive process improvements using engineering methods (DOE, SPC, tolerance studies)
  • Review product designs for manufacturability, repeatability, and robustness
  • Generate clear technical documentation, reports, and operator training aids
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with supply chain, production, test, and field support
  • Understand ISO 9001 and related requirementsnot for box-checking, but for system thinking

Requirements

  • BS in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or related engineering discipline
  • 37 years of hands-on engineering experience in a manufacturing or development environment
  • This position requires access to onsite locations managing government information, which contains Not Releasable to Foreign Nationals (NOFORN) data. Therefore, to meet NOFORN requirements, you will have to provide proof of US Citizenship and attest that you do not have dual citizenship.
  • Comfortable with test method development, design feedback loops, and hands-on problem-solving
  • Familiar with GD&T, root cause analysis, and design validation principles
  • Able to communicate clearly across technical and non-technical teams

Preferred Experience/Skills

  • Experience with actuator or motion-control systems (electric, pneumatic, or hydraulic)
  • Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification
  • Experience designing test fixtures or automated inspection setups
  • CAD fluency (SolidWorks, Creo)
  • Working knowledge of Minitab, JMP, Excel, or Python for data analysis
  • Exposure to ISO 9001, IATF 16949, or IEC 62304 standards
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes (machining, casting, assembly, PCB integration)
  • Experience with supplier quality or new product introduction (NPI) is a plus

Why You'll Thrive Here

  • Real technical challenge with immediate impact
  • Full project visibilitynot just a corner of the chart
  • Leadership support without micromanagement
