Rock Island Auction Company (RIAC), the #1 firearms auction house in the world, is searching for a Quality Engineer !
We are looking for an experienced Quality Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will work closely with stakeholders to create and refine test plans, develop end-to-end automated integration test processes, and work closely with the CI/CD components of our applications. You will bridge the gap between development and deployment, ensuring a seamless and stable user experience.
As a Quality Engineer , you will contribute to both front and back-end testing.  This role will primarily involve customized projects for Rock Island Auction Company . Our development team is integral to our business, and we are looking for a proactive engineer eager to make an impact.
This role requires you to work onsite Monday through Friday from 8:00am - 5:00pm at our Rock Island, IL location. Additionally, RIAC offers the opportunity for a hybrid schedule consisting of two (2) days' remote work contingent upon meeting introductory period requirements.
The salary is dependent on experience and qualifications but ranges from $71,000 - $93,000.

Key Responsibilities: Develop and execute test plans to validate software functionality against requirements and specifications. Identify, report and track software defects and issues. Perform functional, performance, security and regression testing of software products. Report test results and defects to the development team and other stakeholders and work on their resolution. Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to define and test new functionalities. Maintain code quality and organization using version control best practices. Provide suggestions and feedback to improve the quality of the software development process across teams. Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary development team to meet project objectives. Stay updated with the latest testing tools, techniques, and methodologies. Apply best practices in software development, including coding standards, security, and scalability considerations. Perform regression testing to ensure existing functionality remains unaffected. Maintain and update testing documentation. Must-Have Skills & Experience: Automation Tools : Skilled in testing tools such as Azure DevOps, Cypress, Appium, and other testing frameworks to develop and execute tests. JavaScript/TypeScript : Proficiency in JavaScript and JavaScript based testing platforms. HTML/CSS : Strong expertise in HTML/CSS. Version Control : Hands-on experience with Git, GitHub, and Git-Flow. Database Management : Solid understanding of MySQL and MS SQL Server. AWS Services : Experience with Lambda, S3, EC2, SES, SQS, and SNS. Nice-to-Have Skills & Experience: Containerization : Familiarity with Docker or Kubernetes. Testing Tools : Basic knowledge of Vitest and Postman. Debug & Monitoring : Familiarity with Sentry. Search Indexing : Experience with Solr and Elasticsearch. Linux Server Administration & DevOps : Additional expertise in server management is a plus. Ideal Candidate Traits: Excels in a dynamic environment with multiple projects. Prioritizes the end-user experience when testing custom applications and website features. Demonstrates a strong understanding of best practices in software development. Understands testing concepts and how they impact web applications and business performance.
