Job Duties and Responsibilities Candidates must be willing to participate in at least one in-person interview, which may include a live whiteboarding or technical assessment session. Boost Mobile is seeking an RF Engineer I to support the design, integration, and optimization of our 5G wireless network. This role provides foundational support across RF design, performance monitoring, and testing, contributing to the overall reliability and quality of network coverage and user experience.
The RF Engineer I works closely with senior engineers and cross-functional partners to execute RF tasks, monitor key performance indicators, and troubleshoot basic network issues. This role is essential in supporting network expansion and operational excellence through accurate documentation, collaborative problem-solving, and a strong willingness to learn. Key Responsibilities: Perform RF design activities related to building the first standalone 5G broadband network in the US Optimize the end-to-end RF design, propagation modeling and prediction, for deployment of Macro Cell deployment Determine equipment and power configurations Work with eNB/RAN and UE teams on RF solutions including modifications to RF link budgets on a per site level basis to meet operations requirements Perform site candidate evaluation and selection as well as site walks Work with RF Management to establish design criteria, link budget and traffic analysis as needed for network design and update existing performance parameters for ongoing improvements as required Coordinate cell site call testing and optimization drive activities and troubleshoot cellsite issues as they impede signing off on all tests passing in the market Stay current on emerging RF technologies and standards through ongoing learning and team collaboration. Participate in team discussions and contribute ideas for improving RF design and operational processes. Skills, Experience and Requirements Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field required. 0–2 years of experience in RF performance, optimization, or wireless system design preferred. Familiarity with 4G/5G concepts, RF design principles, and mobile network architecture. Exposure to RF optimization tools (e.g., Windcatcher, ACTIX) and post-processing tools preferred. Basic proficiency with industry planning tools like Planet or Atoll. Foundational knowledge of Layer 3 message interpretation and OSS KPIs. Ability to read and interpret technical documents such as MOPs, construction drawings, and as-builts. Intermediate knowledge of general computer applications; experience with Google Suite is a plus. Effective verbal and written communication skills in English required. Ability to maintain driving eligibility under company motor vehicle policies. Must be able to occasionally work nonstandard hours to support business needs. Physical abilities: standing, walking, bending, occasionally working at heights, and lifting up to 50 lbs. Ability to travel up to 10% domestically.
Salary Ranges

The base pay range shown is a guideline. Individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, and competencies; compensation is based on the role's location and is subject to change based on work location. Candidates need to successfully complete a pre-employment screen, which may include a drug test and DMV check.
