Manage engineering projects from concept through completion including design, planning, computations, quality assurance, and will train to take on project management responsibilities Plan, schedule, and complete work assignments within established budgets and timelines Utilize knowledge of GDOT, municipal design standards and criteria, and practices and policies Write clear, concise, and accurate technical and non-technical reports, correspondence, memorandums, and specifications Assist in preparing proposals Develop specifications, cost estimates, and prepare final bid packages Occasional travel to other offices and provide project support as needed Perform limited field observations in support of construction and data collection Coordinate design activities and meetings between design staff, subcontractors, and client managers Mentor and assist junior engineers in developing final design plans, including but not limited to implementation and knowledge of cross sections, traffic control, drainage, and signing and pavement markings plans Other duties: Please note this job posting is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering; Transportation emphasis preferred 6-10 years of related experience in highway/roadway engineering design Professional Engineer (PE) registration required.
