Responsibilities include designing and implementing firmware for embedded systems, developing low-level drivers, optimizing firmware for performance and power efficiency, maintaining bootloaders and update mechanisms, and collaborating on hardware debugging. Required qualifications include 4+ years of firmware development experience in C, strong understanding of microcontroller architectures (ARM, RISC-V), proficiency in networking protocols (TCP/IP, CAN, SPI, I2C), experience with RTOS and bare-metal programming, and familiarity with debugging tools. Preferred qualifications include kernel development experience, knowledge of cryptography and secure boot, DMA and interrupt handling, version control and CI/CD pipelines, and eligibility for U.S. Secret security clearance. The role emphasizes modular firmware architecture, robust error handling, power optimization, and secure update processes.
