Job Details

We’re hiring a Backend Scala Engineer to lead the buildout of our public-facing API. This is a contract-based position (12 months), with potential for extension or conversion based on performance and roadmap expansion. ⸻ What You’ll Be Doing: Architect and build robust, high-performance APIs using Scala Implement secure, reliable integrations with third-party partners and internal services Work closely with product and frontend teams to define API specs and data contracts Optimize endpoints for performance, scalability, and reliability Ensure excellent documentation and versioning practices

⸻ Tech Stack: Languages: Scala, Python, REST/GraphQL Frameworks: Akka HTTP, Play Framework, Http4s Infra: AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, PostgreSQL, Redis Tools: Swagger/OpenAPI, Postman, Git, CI/CD pipelines

⸻ Ideal Candidate: 5+ years of Scala experience (fluency in designing + building API's) Deep understanding of RESTful API architecture and secure integration patterns Solid knowledge of OAuth2, JWT, API rate limiting, and monitoring Strong unit/integration testing discipline
