HOW A NETWORK ENGINEER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
- Responsible for the design and development of voice, video, radio frequency, and/or data communications networks
- Configure, deploy, and manage load balancing tools, firewalls, email security appliances, and web proxies.
- Develop and implement security policies and procedures in accordance with industry best practices and organizational requirements for security policy implementation.
- Monitor SecDev tools for performance and security logs to identify and respond to potential threats and vulnerabilities.
- Participate in security incident response activities, including the investigation, documentation, and remediation of security incidents, for incident response.
- Conduct regular network security assessments and audits to ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements for network security assessments.
- Manage F5s, firewalls, email security appliances and web proxy firmware upgrades and patches to ensure systems are up-to-date and secure for upgrades and patching.
- Work closely with other IT and security teams to design and implement network security solutions for collaboration.
- Maintain detailed and accurate documentation of firewall configurations, changes, and network diagrams for documentation.
- Perform regular updates, patches, and upgrades to boundary devices to ensure they are up to date with the latest security features and firmware.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED
- Education: Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science
- Required Experience: 2+ years of related experience
- Required Technical Skills: Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking, DNS, SSL/TLS, and related protocols.
- Security Clearance Level: TS/SCI w/Poly
- Required Skills and Abilities: Experience with network security concepts and technologies
- Other specific skills or competencies communication and problem solving
- Location: On Site
- US Citizenship Required
- IAT Level II certified
- Ability to work on call rotation as needed.
- Work hours: 8 hours per day (Mon-Fri). Specific hours agreed upon between employee and supervisor.
