Senior Electrical Engineer – Solar + Energy Storage
Power the Future With Us
We're a high-impact clean energy firm known for delivering utility-scale solar and energy storage projects across the country. As we expand, we're looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer to take the lead on designing the systems that will drive tomorrow’s energy infrastructure.
In this role, you’ll be more than a designer, you’ll be a problem solver, mentor, and critical contributor to high-performing teams across engineering, construction, and project development. If you're passionate about solar, BESS, and shaping the energy landscape, this is the opportunity to bring your expertise to large-scale projects from concept through construction.
What You’ll Do
Drive the electrical design process for solar and battery storage systems (BESS), including DC, MVAC, and LVAC systems.
Lead internal project engineering, ensuring every system is optimized for performance, cost, and constructability.
Develop detailed electrical designs, calculations, and construction documentation.
Collaborate with estimating and procurement teams to fine-tune BOMs, optimize layouts, and support bid strategy.
Review utility interconnection studies and ensure compliance with interconnection and PPA requirements.
Guide CAD designers through system layouts, single line diagrams, and construction-ready packages.
Build and manage a database of system components, keeping pace with an evolving tech landscape.
Contribute to the creation of cost-saving design alternatives, comparing equipment and layout options.
Interface with performance modeling teams to align design inputs with production models.
Review EOR deliverables and studies for cost and technical alignment.
Act as a mentor to junior engineers and designers, sharing your knowledge and supporting team growth.
Stay current on the latest in racking, inverters, batteries, BMS/EMS, and switchgear technologies.
What You Bring
Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering (ABET-accredited).
8+ years of relevant electrical engineering experience, including 3+ years in solar or energy storage.
Proven success in a design, EPC, or field engineering environment.
Familiarity with interconnection studies, grid requirements, and utility collaboration.
Professional Engineering (PE) license preferred (or in progress).
Tech & Tools You’ll Use
AutoCAD, ETAP, and Microsoft Office Suite (must-haves).
Experience with tools like SAM, Cymcap, DIgSILENT, or WinIGS is a plus.
Strong ability to interpret electrical drawings, specs, and manufacturer documentation.
Who You Are
Detail-oriented, highly organized, and passionate about clean energy.
A collaborative leader who thrives in fast-paced, cross-functional environments.
A natural mentor—excited to share your expertise and grow a team.
Always thinking ahead and looking for smarter, more efficient solutions.
Why should you apply?
This is your chance to help shape the electrical systems behind some of the largest renewable energy projects in the U.S. You’ll be joining a company that values innovation, collaboration, and long-term impact—and you’ll work alongside experts who are just as committed to clean energy as you are.
