GEICOs Site Reliability Engineering is seeking an experienced Senior DevOps Engineer who is passionate about building engineering solutions - tools, frameworks, and automation in performance, efficiency, and reliability domains. This is a newly created function within the Contact Center Transformation group, with a focus on enabling application teams to deliver enterprise-wide, highly performant, efficient, and reliable products. Our workloads are spread across On-prem, Azure, and AWS, providing exciting opportunities to solve complex multi-cloud problems. You will have a significant impact on customer experience and Geicos technological transformation.
Position Description:
Our Senior DevOps engineer is part of the engineering staff working across the organization to provide a frictionless experience to our customers and maintain the highest standards of reliability and availability. Our team succeeds in delivering high-quality technology products and services in a hyper-growth environment where priorities shift quickly. The ideal candidate has broad and deep technical knowledge to improve application performance, capacity benchmarking, availability, reliability, and cloud/infrastructure architecture. You will work on numerous projects involving AI to enhance customer and agent experiences, focusing on automation, deployment, and quality improvement of AI applications.
Position Responsibilities:
Collaborate with application teams to understand their pain points around performance, efficiency, reliability, and develop strategies to address recurring issues sustainably.
Influence and build vision with application owners to accelerate quality product delivery.
Own the end-to-end delivery of team strategy and execution.
Solve complex problems and advocate for open-source solutions.
Be hands-on in coding and building highly available systems.
Drive solutions aligned with long-term goals, addressing high-priority tech debts efficiently.
Lead in Site Reliability Engineering, operational excellence, and DevOps principles.
Share best practices and improve processes within and across teams.
Qualifications:
Strong understanding of SRE and DevOps principles.
Proficiency in at least one modern language (Python, Java, Go) and experience with open-source software is a plus.
Experience managing infrastructure via Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible).
Expertise in Cloud Architecture, Performance Benchmarking, Capacity Planning, and Reliability tools.
Knowledge of Container orchestration (Kubernetes), container runtimes, and OS optimization.
Experience with Observability platforms, monitoring tools, and performance analysis.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and release orchestration.
Working knowledge of build tools like Jenkins, CircleCI, or ADO.
Experience managing and growing technical teams.
Deep knowledge of data structures and algorithms.
Curiosity and willingness to work on applied AI solutions.
Experience:
4+ years of coding experience.
4+ years developing tooling and engineering solutions in large-scale, mission-critical environments.
3+ years supervising personnel in a technical environment.
3+ years working with a public cloud (Azure, AWS, or other).
Salary Range:
$105,000.00 - $215,000.00
The salary range is a guideline; final offer factors include role scope, experience, education, location, and market considerations. GEICO considers sponsoring qualified applicants for employment authorization.
