Position Description Deque is seeking a Senior Full-Stack Engineer to join our Monitor team. This position will be responsible for developing and maintaining our enterprise-level accessibility monitoring platform that helps organizations continuously track and improve their web accessibility. You'll work on both frontend and backend systems using Java, ReactJS, and Node.js to build scalable solutions that enable businesses to monitor their accessibility compliance in real-time. The ideal candidate would have strong full-stack development experience, a passion for accessibility, and demonstrated expertise in building production-ready applications that serve enterprise customers.
Primary Responsibilities • Develop and maintain high-quality, accessible full-stack solutions for the Monitor platform using Java, ReactJS, and Node.js
• Build and enhance monitoring infrastructure that tracks accessibility compliance across enterprise websites and applications
• Design and implement scalable backend services and APIs that process large volumes of accessibility data
• Create responsive, accessible frontend interfaces that provide clear insights into accessibility metrics and trends
• Collaborate with product managers to refine requirements and provide technical insight for new monitoring features • Write comprehensive unit tests, integration tests, and automated testing strategies across the full stack
• Participate in technical design discussions and contribute to architecture decisions for the monitoring platform
• Perform thorough code reviews for team members, providing constructive feedback and mentoring
• Identify, document, and resolve technical debt while maintaining system performance and reliability
Requirements • 4+ years of experience in full-stack software development
• Strong experience with Java for backend development • Proficiency with ReactJS for frontend development
• Working knowledge of Node.js
• Experience building and maintaining production applications that serve enterprise customers • Understanding of web accessibility principles, WCAG guidelines, and ARIA standards
• Experience with RESTful API design and implementation
• Knowledge of database systems and data modeling
• Basic secure web programming knowledge and experience
• Source code management, pull request reviews, and collaborative development practices
• Ability to work independently and learn as needed, while knowing when to ask for support
• Experience with automated testing frameworks and CI/CD pipelines
Additional Skills • Experience with monitoring, analytics, or data visualization platforms
• Knowledge of accessibility testing tools and methodologies
• Experience with cloud platforms and containerization technologies
• Understanding of performance optimization for large-scale applications
• Experience mentoring junior developers and contributing to team growth
