We are seeking an energetic and responsive Senior Instrumentation and Controls (I&C) Engineer to join our multidisciplinary Process Infrastructure and Design team, with locations in Phoenix, Arizona; Salt Lake City, Utah; or Texas. Our projects span Environmental Infrastructure, Oil & Gas, mining, industrial facilities, water and wastewater industries, landfills, and contaminated sites. Location Depending on your preference, this position can be based in Phoenix, AZ; Salt Lake City, UT; Houston, TX; Dallas, TX; or Austin, TX. Your Responsibilities Develop I&C design documents, including drawings, specifications, and calculations with minimal oversight. Communicate clearly and foster leadership within teams. Work independently and collaboratively across disciplines to meet project goals. Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulations. Review engineering documents and technical specifications for quality assurance. Mentor junior team members in technical and professional development. Review vendor drawings and coordinate with suppliers and other disciplines. Participate in designing and reviewing P&IDs. Prepare and review control system deliverables, including narratives, diagrams, layouts, wiring diagrams, PLC layouts, and loop drawings. Review instrument datasheets, I/O lists, and hazardous area classifications. Configure and program control equipment such as PLCs, HMIs, DCS, and SCADA systems. Participate in client meetings, technical evaluations, and factory acceptance tests. Assist in developing project budgets, schedules, and scope documents. Promote professionalism and maintain positive client and internal relationships. Qualifications Required: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field from an ABET-accredited program. 5-7+ years of relevant experience. Expertise in Instrumentation Engineering and applicable standards (API, NFPA, ISA, PIP, IEC, IEEE, ISO, NACE, NESC). Strong communication and management skills. Proficiency in SPI (Intools), AutoCAD, and instrumentation design tools. Deep understanding of control systems and industrial networking protocols. Ability to collaborate effectively and work on multiple projects. Must pass background check. Preferred: PE registration or ability to obtain within 12 months. Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering. Experience with design-build projects and instrumentation for oil & gas, mining, or water industries. Proficiency in Revit and other design software.
