Senior Production Engineer (Mechanical) POSITION DESCRIPTION: A leading international company is seeking a Senior Production Engineer at their expansive manufacturing facility located near the Atlanta metropolitan area. Responsibilities include identifying and implementing enhancements to current production processes, methods, and controls. The role involves developing and executing efficient manufacturing processes in alignment with product specifications and quality standards. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Identify issues, plan solutions, and implement improvements for existing product and manufacturing process challenges.
Establish and manage a robust documentation quality system for new and ongoing projects (including PFMEA, control plan, process flow, work instructions, and inspection documents).
Conduct research, development, evaluation, installation, operation, and maintenance of manufacturing systems, processes, and equipment to meet specified requirements.
Manage the manufacturing launch process for new/revised products, including setting objectives, training team members, and assessing outcomes.
Provide input on product design based on principles of design for manufacture/assembly.
Conduct cost-benefit analysis for product and manufacturing process enhancement, quality advancement, and efficiency improvement.
Lead or participate in Kaizen activities to drive continuous improvement in manufacturing processes, products, components, raw materials, and equipment.
Create and maintain detailed layouts of building floor space, equipment, and tooling.
Perform routine tasks accurately and promptly following prescribed instructions and procedures.
Train Production and Maintenance Associates to enhance technical knowledge and troubleshooting skills on the production floor.
Undertake other duties as assigned by Management. QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field with a minimum of 5 years of engineering experience, preferably in the automotive manufacturing sector.
Proficiency in reading, interpreting, and creating blueprints and technical documents.
Familiarity with 3D CAD software, particularly SolidWorks, and 2D CAD software, such as AutoCAD.
At least 3 years of hands-on experience with high volume CNC Machining, automated assembly, and/or plastic injection molding processes.
Strong troubleshooting skills with a creative approach to problem-solving and implementing solutions.
Experience in calculating and analyzing OEE, scrap, and manufacturing capacity.
Knowledge of capital equipment projects and new product launches while adhering to APQP and ISO and/or TS standards.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. 9. Outstanding organizational skills, with the ability to inspire team members to achieve goals.
10. Quickly grasp fundamental knowledge of company, products, manufacturing processes, and regulations.
11. Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
12. Must have authorization to work in the USA without the need for sponsorship.
