Senior Mechanical Engineer (Hybrid)

Our client is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to support the design, development, and production of mechanical systems and components. This role involves working on projects related to ammunition handling systems, gun systems, missile launchers, and other mechanical devices. The ideal candidate will have experience with 3D modeling, technical analysis, and documentation development, with a strong background in engineering design and manufacturing support. Research, plan, analyze, design, and develop mechanical products and systems. Perform technical analysis, testing, and evaluation using specialized equipment and software tools. Interpret design specifications, drawings, models, and test results to ensure compliance with engineering standards and requirements. Create and maintain product parts, assemblies, and drawings using PTC Creo Parametric 9.0. Solve moderately complex engineering problems that may not have clearly defined solutions. Ensure assigned tasks meet cost, quality, schedule, and performance goals. Prepare technical documentation and contribute to revisions, reports, and presentations. Support manufacturing activities and collaborate with internal or external shops. Maintain knowledge of relevant industry practices and trends. Promote a safe work environment and adhere to safety policies. Provide input to project leaders regarding schedules, plans, and budgets. Required Skills and Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree with 2 years of experience. Proficiency in 3D CAD modeling, preferably with PTC Pro-E or Creo. Strong understanding of mechanical design principles. Experience in developing solid models and assemblies. Ability to solve technical design and development problems independently. Experience working directly with fabrication shops or vendors. Preferred Qualifications: Familiarity with military and commercial design standards. Experience in a military production environment. Knowledge of precision assembly tooling. Understanding of GD&T principles per ASME Y14.5 (2009 or 2018). Experience with tolerance stack-up analysis. 2+ years of experience using Creo for modeling and drawing. Familiarity with Windchill or other EPDM systems.
