Description: Job Summary This role is an In-Office position. WAVE Wireless Charging is seeking a talented, versatile, and self-motivated mechanical engineer with experience in mechanical integrations of equipment, building strong customer relationships, and optimizing quality, delivery and cost of WAVE projects in our deployment of high-efficiency wireless power transfer (WPT) systems for Electric Vehicle (EV) applications. The ideal candidate should have the desire and aptitude to function in a fast-paced startup company environment where adaptability and flexibility are critical to company success. The role requires developing objectives, strategies and planning successful WAVE deployments as well as establishing relationships and partnerships both internally and externally with technical teams, contractors, and government entities to successfully achieve the critical milestones. The candidate would ideally have leadership experience in a progressive manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities: Support the system integrations group in establishing sub-system design, manufacture installation specifications, by building 3D CAD modules, assemblies and creating drawings using SOLIDWORKS. Create, complete, and lead mechanical system design and validation specifications for cooling systems, electronics enclosures, cables, conduits, primary and secondary pad mounting sub-systems. Determine schedule and responsibilities for mechanical engineering team by working with functional groups to determine lead time and assignment of personnel and priorities to actions, project phases and elements. Maintain project schedule and on time delivery metrics by monitoring project progress; coordinating activities; resolving and/or elevating issues/problems. Identify opportunities in design, process improvements, implementing solutions, and driving projects within the organization.
Requirements: Job Requirements: BS or higher degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent 5+ years of engineering experience developing products, specifically packaging of industrial electronics and power electronics systems. 1 - 2 years of specific engineering leadership experience in a manufacturing/product development environment. Proficient in the use of SolidWorks and the handling of web-based management systems. Experience with ERP, MRP, PLM or PDM tools Experience with the design of medium voltage electronics packaging and mechanical component design including sheet metal, machining, cold plate and bus bar, injection molded plastics, and contract manufacturing documentation. Ability to analyze, schedule, and be the technical contributor in the cost-effective implementation of tasks, assuming responsibility and accountability for the timely completion of the tasks. Experience working with OEM vehicle producers and component vendors. Understand challenges in designing products in automotive environments, specifically worked with relevant UL, and SAE standards to vehicle electronics. Ability to adapt positively to various ad hoc roles that may come from time to time as usual with a small startup company Excellent written and verbal communication skills Excellent leadership capability, with the ability of leading a team in the future Proficient in Microsoft Suite
