This is a fully on-site role, offering the opportunity to work alongside talented engineers and researchers developing the next generation of robotic systems. About the Role: As a Robot Lab Mechanical Engineer, you’ll play a key role in the design, development, prototyping, and testing of advanced robotic platforms and laboratory automation systems. This position requires a strong foundation in mechanical engineering, along with creative problem-solving and cross-disciplinary collaboration. Key Responsibilities: Design and develop mechanical components for robotic and automation platforms. Collaborate closely with electrical, software, and controls engineers to create integrated systems. Use CAD and simulation tools to model, analyze, and optimize mechanical designs. Perform stress, strain, thermal, and vibration analysis to ensure reliability. Assemble and test prototypes using both traditional machining and additive manufacturing. Troubleshoot, iterate, and continuously improve mechanical systems. Prepare technical documentation for manufacturing and quality control teams. Contribute to design reviews and advise on manufacturability and cost optimization. Select materials, actuators, and components based on performance and lead time. Preferred Experience: 5–10 years in mechanical engineering, with a strong focus on robotics, automation, or manufacturing systems. Experience working in lab or R&D environments. Familiarity with robotic assemblies, including actuators, linkages, and motion control systems. Hands-on experience with prototyping tools: 3D printers, CNC machines, and laser cutters. Comfort working with CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and simulation software (e.g., ANSYS, MATLAB). Controls systems experience is a plus, but not required. What You Bring: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, Mechatronics, or related field Strong collaboration skills with cross-functional engineering teams. Excellent technical communication and documentation abilities. A mindset for continuous learning and process improvement. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced R&D setting. Bonus Skills (Not Required): Certifications in mechanical design, automation, or Six Sigma. Experience with Jira, Confluence, or GitHub for project tracking and collaboration. Technical mentoring of junior engineers or interns.
