Job Summary This is a high-level mechanical engineering position responsible for overseeing project responsibilities, including design, specification, review and development of mechanical equipment or systems. The ideal candidate will have expertise in building mechanical infrastructure such as steam, cooling water, compressed air, fire protection systems, natural gas, LPG, plumbing, wastewater, and other thermal-fluids that support manufacturing processes. The focus is on making strategic engineering studies, calculations, and design specifications to meet project goals. Strong leadership skills are required to oversee engineering teams and manage projects from conceptual plans to final designs. Responsibilities Define project scope and analyze options before selecting the best solution. Develop detailed requirements, plans, and schedules for all work. Conduct thorough mechanical engineering studies and calculations to inform detailed designs. Develop conceptual plans and final designs to correct deficiencies or satisfy project requirements. Oversee the creation of detailed engineering drawings and provide project specifications. Estimate project costs and negotiate with vendors. Prepare white papers and business cases for proposed designs. Collaborate with other groups to prepare white papers as requested. Ability to interpret domestic and international Codes and Standards with local engineer's support. Experience with National Fire Protection Code (NFPA) and FM Insurance guidelines is essential. Design simple fire protection systems based on NFPA codes and FM data sheets. Initiate implementation activities by issuing work orders and requisitions. Monitor work-in-progress to maintain schedule, coordinate efforts, resolve problems, control costs, and report status. Ensure performance tests are satisfied, required documentation is furnished, and complete project acceptance. Provide on-site mechanical engineering expertise and project management of mechanical installation at new and existing facilities worldwide. Stay current with technology and developments that enhance personal performance. Prioritize individual project budget effectively. Requirements Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Facilities Engineering. Five or more years of engineering experience with project management exposure or training. Construction related work experience is highly desirable. Successful track record of leading engineering teams. Excellent organizational and communication skills. Strong computer skills including familiarity with AutoCAD or Revit, Microsoft Office, and mechanical engineering specific software. Professional Engineering License is preferred. Passport eligibility is a requirement.
