The Senior Project Engineer is responsible for managing and overseeing complex projects within the Air Conditioning and Mechanical Ventilation (ACMV) sector. This role ensures that projects are executed efficiently, adhering to company procedures, objectives, and client requirements, with a focus on high-quality HVAC system design, installation, and performance optimization.
Job Responsibilities
HVAC System Design and Installation :Oversee the design, installation, and integration of HVAC systems, including components like ductwork, piping, and equipment selection.
Maintenance Programs :Develop and implement maintenance strategies to ensure HVAC systems function efficiently and meet energy standards.
Site Inspections :Conduct site assessments and inspections to identify potential issues, troubleshoot problems, and implement corrective actions.
Team Management :Lead and manage a team of engineers and technicians, ensuring adherence to project deadlines, budgets, and quality standards.
Collaboration :Work closely with architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure that HVAC systems integrate seamlessly with overall building designs.
Industry Knowledge :Stay up-to-date with the latest HVAC technologies, trends, and regulatory requirements to maintain a competitive edge in the industry.
Technical Support :Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers and technicians, ensuring optimal performance and skills development.
Compliance and Safety :Ensure that all HVAC projects comply with safety regulations, industry standards, and local building codes.
Reporting :Prepare and present detailed technical reports and progress updates for clients and upper management.
Business Development :Contribute to company growth by supporting business development activities, including proposal writing and client interactions.
Job Requirements: Experience :Minimum of 5 years of experience working in the ACMV field, specifically with HVAC systems and projects.
Educational Qualification :Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, or equivalent qualification.
Technical Knowledge :Strong understanding of HVAC systems, including equipment selection, load calculations, and ductwork design.
Familiarity with local building codes, standards, and regulations related to HVAC system design and installation.
Project Management :Excellent project management skills, including the ability to manage timelines, resources, budgets, and team performance effectively.
Communication Skills :Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with clients, contractors, and cross-functional teams.
Software Proficiency :Proficiency in AutoCAD and other design software for HVAC system design and drafting.
