Senior Quality Software Engineer (Surface) Overview: The Surface Team focuses on building devices that fully express the Windows vision. Our strategy involves creating desirable and powerful devices that enable desired experiences. This requires close collaboration between hardware and software engineers, designers, and manufacturing. We are currently building the next generation of Surface devices, and we need your expertise!
The Surface team is seeking qualified candidates for the role of Senior Quality Software Engineer (Surface) in the Design Verification team. You will be responsible for the design verification, characterization, tuning, and stability of Surface software. Your role includes developing verification strategies and plans that connect high-level use cases to product architecture, effectively revealing and screening out defects.
You will provide critical data analysis, drive solutions, design changes, and optimizations aligned with business priorities. Innovation in test techniques and methods will be vital to ensure robust product qualification. Additionally, you will lead test strategy discussions, develop methodologies, execute test procedures, and manage qualification cycles.

Responsibilities Lead quality validation efforts for Surface products, including software components, ensuring high quality standards.
Oversee all aspects of test engineering and validation for hardware and software features, collaborating with global teams.
Leverage and develop AI-based automation tools to enhance product quality.
Communicate program status and quality updates to management and stakeholders.
Innovate test techniques and develop comprehensive test plans and methodologies.
Conduct technical reviews and audits of test architectures, plans, cases, and results.
Provide quality status reports regularly and at key milestones.
Triages bugs, investigates issues, reproduces problems, and collaborates on solutions.
Reviews test reports and defects, and works on mitigating product risks through targeted testing.
Work on various hardware development stages, including prototypes.
