As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be integral in designing, coding, and enhancing innovative software applications that cater to our business and platform requirements. We value your strategic technical expertise and hands-on engineering skills to lead multiple functional teams. This position allows you to establish yourself as a recognized subject matter expert, influencing enterprise-wide platforms and playing a key role in delivering impactful initiatives within our regulated environment.
In this role, you will act as a hands-on technical leader for our enterprise Appian platform, supporting various business projects. You will assist in standardizing engineering quality and development practices while actively shaping and developing cutting-edge software solutions across numerous initiatives.
Design and develop enterprise software solutions using Appian low-code capabilities , encompassing process models, SAIL interfaces, record types, expression rules, and reusable components.
Leverage your expertise in Appian platform configuration, security frameworks, and performance optimization to tackle complex technical challenges.
Create and support Appian integrations through RESTful services, APIs, and enterprise data sources.
Directly contribute to Appian-based workflow and case management solutions across multiple concurrent initiatives.
Evaluate and implement Appian platform features and upgrades to enhance scalability, reliability, and developer productivity.
Offer insightful technical guidance on Appian best practices while ensuring compliance with enterprise engineering standards.

Required Qualifications:
10+ years of experience working with Appian, with a comprehensive understanding of enterprise-wide enablement.
Hands-on development experience using Appian.
Proficiency in Autoscale techniques and design for high throughput/volume applications.
Experience developing workflow-driven and case-based applications in large-scale environments.
Thorough grasp of platform security, integrations, and data access patterns, including hands-on API development.
Experience with AI Modeling and proficient use of Appian AI capabilities.
This position requires experience in a HIPAA-regulated healthcare environment , highlighting the importance of security, compliance, and reliability.
Preferred Qualifications:
Appian Certified Lead Developer or Appian Certified Architect or equivalent certification.
Work from Home Requirements:
Must provide a high-speed DSL or cable modem for your home office. Employees working from home in California will be reimbursed for their internet expenses.
A minimum speed of 25x10 (25mbps download x 10mbps upload) is required.
Satellite and Wireless Internet services are NOT acceptable for this position.
A dedicated workspace that ensures privacy to safeguard member PHI / HIPAA information is required.
Travel: While this is a remote role, occasional travel to Humana's offices for training or meetings may be necessary.
Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40
Pay Range:
The compensation range below represents a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full-time employment (40 hours per week) at the time of posting. It may vary based on geographic location and individual qualifications.
$156,600 - $215,400 per year
This position is also eligible for a bonus incentive plan, based on company and/or individual performance.
