The Senior Staff Accountant will work with the Assistant Director of Finance on the overall financial management of the Resort including Club Management, HOA and Real Estate Venture to ensure the Resort's financial success. The position will report directly to the Brasada Assistant Director of Finance and will work closely with the Brasada Accounting Team.

General Responsibilities:

  • Works with and supports the Resort's accounting and financial systems including accounts payable, accounts receivable, labor management and payroll.
  • Assists with the monthly financial closing process including the posting of journal entries.
  • Prepare monthly financial reports ensuring the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles and the companys financial reporting standards.
  • Assists in the monthly balance sheet reconciliations including fixed assets.
  • Helps prepare monthly tax reporting and ensure accurate sales, use, and occupancy tax returns and all other local and state tax filings as required.
  • Assists with providing required information for periodic internal and external audits.
  • Leads or assists in the daily reconciliation of cash and credit cards.
  • Continually look for opportunities to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the department and hotel operations through the leveraging of technology and processes.
  • Upholds internal controls and guidelines for accounting transactions.
  • Upholds the Resort's values of caring and respect in every interaction.
  • Ability to communicate in detail in all required meetings.
  • Perform additional responsibilities and duties as assigned.

Skills/Traits:

  • A degree or extensive training and experience in an accounting field is strongly preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Proficient in accounting software.
  • Five years or more of related experience required.
  • Experience with Homeowner Associations (HOA) and real estate development is a plus.
