About the Role We are seeking a high-caliber Senior Structural Engineer to drive technical excellence within our engineering department. This role is designed for a Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) who possesses a sophisticated understanding of both residential and light commercial building systems. You will lead projects from initial calculation to final field inspection, ensuring structural integrity while mentoring the next generation of engineers. Key Responsibilities Structural Analysis: Execute comprehensive analysis and design for residential, multi-family, and retail structures, including specialized retaining wall foundations. Technical Documentation: Produce precise structural drawings, detailed calculations, and construction specifications. Project Leadership: Oversee project controls, including scheduling, budgeting, and cross-discipline coordination. Onsite Conflict Resolution: Conduct field observations and provide real-time solutions for onsite construction challenges.
~ Mentorship: Actively train and develop junior engineering staff to maintain high standards of accuracy and responsiveness.
Education & Experience
Required Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering ; a Master’s degree is highly preferred. Licensure: Must be a Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) with 7–10 years of practicing experience. Industry Expertise: A minimum of 3 years of dedicated Residential Design experience is mandatory. Mobility: Ability to pursue P.E. licensure in multiple states and a willingness to travel to various project sites. Technical Requirements Code Proficiency: In-depth knowledge of AISC , ACI 318 , ASCE 7 , and IBC , alongside local building codes. Design Software: Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit . Analysis Tools: Expert use of industry-standard software such as RAM Structural Systems , Concept , and RAM Elements . Material Mastery: Extensive experience designing with steel, concrete, wood, and precast systems . Cross-Discipline Understanding: Knowledge of geotechnical, mechanical, electrical, and surveying disciplines. Physical & Operational Requirements Ability to navigate and access active construction areas and job sites. Proficiency in standard office environments, including prolonged computer-based design work. xsgimln Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds and travel up to 50% for client meetings and inspections.
