Pursuant to section 656.10 of Title 20 of the Code of Federal Regulations (20 C.F.R. § 656.10), you are hereby notified that an Application for Permanent Employment Certification is being filed for the following position:

Thornton Tomasetti, Inc., seeks Senior Engineers - Structure in Miami, Florida.

Prepares analysis and designs for structural elements and systems
Coordinates all activities with project manager and other design engineers
Communicates and coordinates with clients and consultants (e.g., architects and civil/mechanical/electrical/plumbing engineers) to ensure clear understanding of project goals and expectations
Interacts with clients and team members regarding project information
Analyzes building structures (e.g., load, wind, gravity, and geometry)
Interprets building codes
Determines project, design and construction specifications (e.g., beam size, column size, etc.)
Coordinates and guides preparation of construction documents with BIM staff, clients, and internal quality staff
Spot-checks calculations and back-checks plan mark-ups and completed drafting
Performs construction administration services on assigned projects
Responds to RFIs from contractors and subcontractors
Organizes and maintains logs and files for structural submittal
Attends construction meetings and visits job-site at major stages and phases
Prepares field reports for clients
Performs full time site-observation for projects as assigned Performs other functions as needed
Develops drawings and spreadsheets to create new standards
May obtain and maintain professional certifications (e.g., RA, EIT, PE & SE)

Requires a Master's degree in Engineering, Architecture or a related field of study. Requires any amount of experience, gained through undergraduate or graduate education or work experience, in the following: Analysis of supertall structures; Reinforced concrete slab analysis and design; Using finite element modeling software, such as SAP2000 for structural analysis and design of buildings; Analysis and design of post-tensioned concrete.
