The Opportunity:
Senior level Systems Engineer with strong design experience related to network engineering, system fit-up, and system deployment, as well as general Windows and Linux system administration and sustainment experience. Must have knowledge and experience with enclaves, firewalls (NSX and Cisco ASA), VMware vCenter, VMware NSX, Cisco switches, VPNs, VLANs, Server Deployment, Storage Area Network (SAN), Power Distribution Units, and Security (STE/N). This role will also be expected to perform system architect duties for both revamping current system design to fit new needs and developing a new and improved design.
Responsibilities:
Experience in systems engineering providing technical direction for the development, engineering, interfacing, integration, and testing of specific components of complex hardware/software systems to include requirements elicitation, analysis and functional allocation, conducting systems requirements reviews, developing concepts of operation and interface standards, developing system architectures, and performing technical/non-technical assessment and management as well as end-to-end flow analysis.
Implementing comprehensive Service Oriented Architecture solutions.
Implementing operational view, technical standards view, and system and services view for architectures using applicable DoDAF standards.
Developing scenarios (threads) and an Operational Concept that describes the interactions between the system, the user, and the environment, that satisfies operational, support, maintenance, and disposal needs.
Reviewing and/or approving system engineering documentation to ensure that processes and specifications meet system needs and are accurate, comprehensive, and complete.
Conducting quantitative analysis in non-functional system performance areas like Reliability, Maintainability, Vulnerability, Survivability, Producibility, etc.).
Establishing and following a formal procedure for coordination system integration activities among multiple teams, ensuring complete coverage of all interfaces.
Capturing interface designs in a common interface control format and storing interface data in a commonly accessible repository.
Preparing time-line analysis diagrams illustrating the flow of time-dependent function Qualifications: Required: Systems Engineer Level 3 requires a bachelor's degree in system engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline, and 20+ years of experience as a systems engineer on programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.Five (5) additional years of relevant experience may be accepted in lieu a bachelor's degree on some contracts.- Experience with enclaves and firewalls (NSX and Cisco ASA)- Virtual experience with VMware vCenter, VMware NSX, Cisco switches, VPNs, VLANs, and Server Deployment- Knowledge working with Storage Area Network (SAN) and Power Distribution Units- Familiarity with customer Security (i.e., STE/STN) requirements.- Scripting: Bash or Python- Configuration: Ansible/Puppet/Salt- Containerization: Docker or Kubernetes- Monitoring: Nagios/Splunk (configuration)
