The ML Platform team builds the core infrastructure powering Affirm's machine learning models, which assess and approve BNPL transactions, determining creditworthiness. Responsibilities: Collaborate with your team to break down projects, deliver in phases, and ensure timely completion. Support product development by working with product management, design, and analytics teams. Maintain operational stability by creating and monitoring metrics, and supporting on-call duties. Participate in team growth activities, including the interview process. Qualifications: At least 1.5 years of software engineering experience. Experience designing and launching backend systems; proficiency in Python or Kotlin. Familiarity with distributed systems, AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes. Ability to develop solutions that involve multiple software components, with clear, tested, and extensible code. Comfort navigating large codebases, debugging, and code reviews. Proactive in personal growth and feedback seeking. Strong communication skills for effective collaboration. Equivalent practical experience or a related Bachelor's degree. Additional Details: Position is remote within the U.S., with occasional in-office requirements depending on the role.
