PowerPlan helps optimize the financial performance of our customers’ assets by developing strategic solutions for complex problems. We are looking for a Solutions Engineer who will work with our Managed Services team to help clients understand their business objectives, priorities, challenges, and processes to develop solution recommendations. You will play a critical role in researching problems and delivering results for initiatives that are vital to the success of our customers. We are looking for someone customer focused and a creative problem solver to successfully deliver value to our clients. This person must be highly collaborative, possess an inquisitive spirit, and be able to successfully manage ambiguity and frequently changing priorities. The position requires above average attention to details, concern for the exact correctness of work, and strong commitment to tasks completed on time. The person in this position will adhere to timelines, administrative tasks are second nature, and will help spread their technical knowledge across the team to help develop new offerings. This person should be adept at adopting new technologies and facilitating their adoption across teams. Responsibilities
Key Performance Objectives Develop Repeatable Outcome-Based Solutions: Design, develop and test technical solutions that translate functional business requirements to achieve strategic objectives. Create solutions that drive measurable outcomes for clients and can be adopted by the team for future initiatives. Utilize tools such as SQL, PL/SQL, Powerbuilder, and other applications to develop solutions. Deliver solutions that automate manual processing, capture critical financial and operational information, and communicate with external systems. Utilize expertise of the PowerPlan footprint to support initiatives with minimal guidance and direction : Host trainings, client sessions, webinars, and informal teaching to spread knowledge across the team. Be the PowerPlan advocate for clients and drive value for them. Develop a deep understanding of the PowerPlan system and use this knowledge to solve complex problems for clients. Contribute to the delivery of predefined Managed Services Offerings and assist in the development, adoption, and stabilization of future offerings: Ensure successful delivery of predefined offerings and contribute to the development of new offerings. Ensure successful adoption and stabilization of new offerings. Collaborate with Internal Teams: Work closely with sales, marketing, and product development teams to ensure that our solution is meeting the customer needs. Timely Delivery: Deliver solutions in a timely manner. This involves managing time effectively and being able to prioritize tasks based on customer needs and project deadlines. Continuous Learning: Solutions Engineers must be committed to continuous learning and staying up-to-date with the latest technologies and industry trends. This involves attending training sessions, reading industry publications, and staying informed about the latest developments in the field. Product Improvement : Provide feedback to product development teams to help improve our solutions. This involves identifying areas where the product could be improved and working with the development team to implement those changes. Qualifications
Hold a Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. Have at least 3 years of work experience in a similar position or equivalent skills experience. Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrate the ability to achieve results and solve complex problems. Have the ability to learn technical applications and coach and develop team members. Demonstrate a process orientation that allows for analysis, design, and building of complex processes. Be able to work independently and collaborate with others as part of a team. Quickly establish oneself as a trusted advisor to PowerPlan's customers and employees. Possess an understanding of system and network architecture, system platforms, system access, database design, SQL queries, and network protocols. Have excellent organizational and time management skills. Be authorized to work in the US. Preferred qualifications include an advanced degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, knowledge of ERP implementations and financial accounting processes, experience with developing complex SQL queries, hands-on experience working with capital projects, budgets and fixed asset accounting, or business tax software, and industry experience within oil and gas, mining, transportation, natural resources, utilities, energy markets, or telecomm.
