Position Overview We are looking for a Senior Cyber Range Engineer for the Joint Cyber Training Enterprise (JCTE) who will be a subject matter expert for cyber range validation and range control. The successful candidate will provide senior expert guidance on cyber range development and execution, systems administration, cybersecurity, and account management. They will address ad-hoc customer technical requirements and synchronize priorities across platform’s functional areas. The ability to thrive under pressure and lead teams is essential.
The position is full-time on-site in Wahiawa, HI.
Responsibilities
Support execution of cybersecurity training and testing events within cyber ranges.
Implement offensive cyber range content, including virtual machines, networks, hardware in the loop, training materials, applications, and scenarios.
Provide customer support for red cell exercise events and develop visual products tracking exercise priorities.
Assist content developers in configuring and employing red cell applications for training.
Support development, testing, documentation, and deployment of complex cyber and IT training systems.
Ensure quality and timely completion of tasks per contractual requirements.
Design and execute cyber range events.
Provide expertise on architecture, authentication, and system security.
Fulfill on-call responsibilities as needed.
Drive process improvements across all activities.
Provide IT, virtual environment, and network support.
Engage with vendors, users, and developers to understand operational needs and changes.
Required Experience/Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline or 6+ years relevant experience.
Current DoD 8570 IAT Level II/III Certification or ability to obtain within 6 months.
Knowledge of JELC, cyber tools, networking, DNS, routing, and troubleshooting.
Experience with MS, AD, Security Onion, VMWare, RHEL IdM, and SSO via LDAP.
Ability to translate cyber training goals into event environments.
Self-starter, adaptable, and capable of solving complex problems.
Excellent communication skills.
4+ years with CNO/CNE/CND platforms.
5+ years with cyber training and exercises, working with CPTs.
Preferred Experience/Qualifications
Knowledge of DNS, routing protocols, Exchange, Security Onion, Splunk, and VMWare port configurations.
Security Clearance & Requirements U.S. Citizenship and Top Secret/SCI clearance with CI Polygraph required. Occasional travel up to 10%.
Salary Range $140,000 - $205,000, based on experience and qualifications.
