Sr Electrical Design Engineer Magnetics
Our client specializes in precision printed electronics, using its proprietary "Micropenning" technology to directly apply functional materials onto a wide variety of substrates-from flat surfaces to complex 3D shapes. This is a flow-based micro-dispensing method, which enables ultra-fine line printing (just a few mils wide) with excellent edge definition, thickness control, and repeatability-outperforming traditional screen printing techniques.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret customer requirements and translate them into design specs and success criteria
- Design and simulate magnetic components using tools like Ansys, Comsol, and SolidWorks
- Run design trade-off analyses, including FEA, and assess prototype performance
- Collaborate across teams and with customers to support new product development
- Drive cost-effective manufacturing strategies including tooling, assembly fixtures, and inspection processes
- Support production with troubleshooting, design updates, and continuous improvement
- Lead design reviews and provide support through First Article Inspection and production ramp-up
- Develop test plans and control strategies using sinusoidal and resonant waveform simulation
- Stay informed about industry advancements and provide insight into opportunities and risks
- Participate in team huddles, DFMEA/PFMEA, PPAP, and HALT problem-solving activities
- Help improve safety, consistency, and labor efficiency on the shop floor
- Support ongoing training in engineering practices including configuration control and supplier management
