Sr. Electrical Engineer - Federal/Design Principal

Summary
Our client has an excellent opportunity for a talented Sr. Electrical Engineer to support Federal, ports, and/or infrastructure projects in our Seattle, WA office. The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of experience with the design of federal, ports, and/or infrastructure projects.
Duties & Responsibilities Pre-Design Engineering Perform field surveys for the design of electrical systems, gather information, and prepare site assessment reports. Prepare electrical schematic designs.
Design Engineering Design power single line and riser diagrams Perform electrical calculations (arc flash, coordination, short circuit, voltage drop, load flow) using ETAP/SKM. Design low voltage and medium voltage infrastructure. Understand and utilize CAD/BIM standards. Have a working knowledge of National Electrical Code, Washington Codes and Energy Standards to design electrical systems. Coordination among different disciplines, such as mechanical, plumbing, telecom, civil, structural, and architectural. Work in close contact with the entire design team.
Project Management Demonstrate ability to manage multiple large-size projects involving other senior engineers and sub-consultants. Provide mentorship to design engineers. Prepare proposals independently for clients. Demonstrate active development of business with new and existing clients.
Construction Administration Review and respond to RFI's. Review equipment submittals. Perform punch walks and prepare punch list reports. National Electrical Code - required Washington State Codes - required Unified Facilities Criteria - preferred ETAP/SKM - preferred Microsoft Office Suite Revit a plus AutoCAD a plus
Qualifications & Requirements Degree: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering A Registered Professional Engineer license is required Minimum 10 years experience Able to lead electrical design projects and a team of design engineers. Able to perform QAQC on electrical projects and mentor emerging professionals through challenging design issues. Demonstrate project management skills. Be self-motivated, inquisitive, detail-oriented, adept at looking at underlying issues, and willing to work in a fast-paced environment. Experience using AutoCAD, ETAP/SKM, and Revit Possess strong record-keeping and organizational skills. Must be a US Citizen Benefits
