The Bus Electronics Design team is responsible for the hardware that powers the client's reputable, reliable, high-powered spacecraft, including solar array power conversion, battery electronics, and electronic propulsion Our spacecraft enable earth observation, communications, and interplanetary space exploration such as the Psyche mission and the Gateway Power and Propulsion Element (PPE) in partnership with NASA
As a Sr Electrical Test Engineer, you will own the test activities for analog power units for different company products For new product development, this means defining and implementing test setups, conducting engineering tests, and writing documentation to substantiate compliance to requirements You will also be the main point of contact for leading the resolution of production non-conformances This is an exciting, hands-on opportunity to contribute to the success of current and future Client systems missions.
Responsibilities & Duties
•Collaborate with electrical and system engineering to drive test requirements and verification plans.
•Test analog and power hardware for use in spacecraft applications.
•Write test plans, conduct tests, write test reports, for Engineering Development, Qualification, Highly Accelerated Life Testing (HALT), EMI/EMC, and other custom tests.
•Hands-on prototyping and bring up of designs, write and conduct test plans.
•Effectively troubleshoot and document root cause investigations.
•Assist in EMI/EMC compliance and overall qualification testing.
•Support Preliminary Design Reviews (PDR), Critical Design Reviews (CDR), Technical Interchange Meeting (TIM), with customers and internal stakeholders.
•Clearly communicate efforts and make recommendations.
•Proactive collaboration with entire cross-functional team to drive project success.
Requirement:
Minimum Requirements
•Must be a U.S citizen or permanent resident.
•Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, aerospace engineering, physics, mathematics, computer science or related field.
•6 years' experience minimum.
•Hands-on experience with proper measurement and troubleshooting techniques for analog and power electronics circuits in a lab environment with lab equipment.
•Proficiency reading circuit schematics, board layouts, assembly drawings, equipment manuals, etc.
•Ability to develop logical troubleshooting plans, interpret results, and make recommendations.
•Self motivated, attention to detail, with proactive problem-solving and communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
Additional Qualifications
•Experience with scripting for test.
•Experience with EMI/EMC compliance testing.
•Experience with testing of custom magnetics.
•Experience with root cause investigations, corrective actions, with customer communications.
•Experience with troubleshooting digital / mixed-signal circuits, in particular microcontrollers and associated peripheral digital circuitry.
•Experience with Hardware In The Loop testing.
