Sr. Manufacturing Controls Dev Engineer, Automation

Responsibilities
- Architect, develop, program and debug structured text and ladder logic code on multiple PLC controller platforms (Siemens TIA Portal and Allen Bradley) that will interact with subsystems such as conveyors, robots, MES, LabView, machine vision, and 3rd party equipment
- Create intuitive operator touchscreen interfaces using Siemens WinCC / Proface / Weintek EasyBuilder and SCADA dashboards screens using Ignition
- Create robust programs and sequences to control complex, multi-station machinery to perform processes such as Powder coating, Sealing, Painting, pick and place, inspection and conveyance
- Set up and tune servo drives and VFDs for fast and smooth operation
- Participate in initial equipment conceptual development and carefully balance product specifications, process requirements, layout complexity, cost, and lead-time limits
- Design and implement control reliable safety systems for safeguarding robots, gantries, conveyors, and other high-volume manufacturing equipment as per codes and standards
- Design & manage electrical cabinet builds, field wiring, pneumatic and fluid plumbing
- Manage suppliers during specification, design, buyoff and installation of automated manufacturing equipment
- Develop & maintain proper documentation of all electrical equipment and associated procedures, making updates as required
- Characterize and validate new automated processes/applications for deployment into production using a data driven approach such as simulation, Capacity and Capability statistical test
Requirements
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Computer Science & 5+ years' experience in Control Systems Design and PLC, or equivalent experience
- Experience working with automotive manufacturing processes & application equipments preferred
- Demonstrated proficiency in PLC, HMI, and debugging mechatronic systems
- Understanding of databases (MSSQL, MySQL) and various program languages (Java, Python)
- Human Machine Interface (HMI / GUI - Proface, WinCC, Ignition)
- Advanced robotic programming skills. (Fanuc, Kuka, Durr, ABB preferred)
- Proficiency creating detailed electrical and fluid schematics in CAD (EPLAN preferred)
- In depth knowledge of Electrical & Safety Standards. (NFPA79, NEC, UL508A, ANSI/RIA15.06, OSHA)
- Proficiency selecting appropriate circuit protectors, wire, cable, sensors, safety hardware, PLC hardware, remote I/O, VFD, robots and servo systems
- Experience with Vision systems. (Cognex, Keyence, Fanuc)

$104,000 - $204,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
