Pilot is hiring a senior engineer for our newest R&D team, Local Partners.
Pilot is a successful startup bringing the back office into the modern era. The Local Partners team is responsible for a new segment of our business: enabling partnerships with entrepreneurs running their own bookkeeping businesses. This team is going to be highly experimental and iterative, and youll help build that culture from the ground up.
Pilots aim has been to provide our customers with the same superpowers as large companies with full finance teams including deep understanding of financial health, machinery to improve it, and predictive abilities for planning. Weve done this through powerful software for our own customers, and now were bringing that solution to entrepreneurs.
Key Responsibilities Building, testing, and deploying software in a continuous manner (we deploy daily or more often)
Working with PMs and Product Designers, and participating in product and design reviews
Creating and contributing to technical specs and testing/rollout plans
Working with internal customers and stakeholders to ensure were solving the right problems
Mentoring and sponsoring teammates to help them grow
Supporting your software and services as required
About You Even if you dont have experience with our specific technologies, wed love to talk to you! Our requirements are:
4+ years of experience as a software engineer
Able to work collaboratively across functions
Strong written, verbal, and technical communication skills
Able to write well-structured, well-tested, and maintainable code
Demonstrated ability to mentor and teach others
We have a strong preference for engineers with experience in Python in production. Were also interested in those with backgrounds in accounting, fintech, or related fields.

The base pay range for this senior role in San Francisco, CA, is $156,000 - $211,000. Final offers depend on experience, location, and market factors. Full-time roles include equity, 401(k), health benefits, and other perks; some benefits may be available for part-time or temporary roles.
