In this pivotal role, you’ll ensure our technology infrastructure operates smoothly and efficiently, supporting system upgrades, coordinating development efforts, and maintaining critical documentation. A day in the life…  Wondering what a day in the life of a full-time   Senior Systems Engineer   at The Iowa Clinic might look like? Delivering on-site hardware and software support to ensure high-quality service. Collaborating with IT teams, vendors, and management to communicate project updates and system changes. Providing backup support to fellow Systems Engineers and mentoring Help Desk and PC Tech staff. Creating and maintaining detailed documentation for system configurations and operational procedures. Leading system development tasks, including design, integration, and implementation. Monitoring, updating, and patching server applications and software systems. Upholding confidentiality standards for patient and financial data. Promoting a positive organizational image and fostering strong interpersonal relationships. Demonstrating excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills under pressure. The schedule for this role will be Monday - Friday, based around the hours of 7am - 5pm (8-hour days) onsite in West Des Moines. What We’re Looking For: Proven experience in systems engineering or a related IT role. Strong technical knowledge of hardware, software, and network systems. Ability to lead projects and collaborate across teams. Exceptional documentation and troubleshooting skills. Commitment to service excellence and continuous improvement. Qualifications/Requirements   Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. 6+ years in IT support with a focus on system performance. Strong communication skills and the ability to thrive under pressure. Familiarity with telecommunications systems and compliance regulations. Nationally recognized certification - Preferred.
