The Position
Staff Associate Engineers perform professional engineering assignments not requiring licensure by the State Board of Professional Engineers & Land Surveyors.
This recruitment is for a Staff II Associate Engineer position for the Nevada Division of Environmental Protection in the Bureau of Air Quality Planning, Planning and Data Management Branch. This position is primarily responsible for tracking permit applications, collection and validation of annual emissions reporting data, maintaining the Annual Billing Reconciliation and Nevada Mercury Control Billable Thermal Unit spreadsheets and updating all permit records into the Air Record Information System and Air Information Management System, along with the validation of annual emissions reported by regulated facilities through the State and Local Emissions Inventory System. This position also provides technical assistance to the regulated community and other Bureau staff while maintaining standard operating procedures manuals for the three databases. The incumbent must be able to communicate with stakeholders, the general public, regulated facilities and maintain professional and positive internal and external working relationships, while fostering a work environment that encourages an open and honest exchange of information.

To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in civil engineering or closely related engineering field and two years of professional engineering experience; OR Certification by the Nevada State Board of Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors as an Engineer Intern, and two years of professional engineering experience in civil engineering or closely related engineering field; OR two years of experience as a Staff I, Associate Engineer or Supervisor I, Associate Engineer in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
